TIFF announces 50 films

Robert Redford, Ryan Reynolds and Natalie Portman are just a few of the stars Torontonians may see at this years Toronto International Film Festival.
Festival director Piers Handling and co-director Cameron Bailey announced 50 films Tuesday.
The highly-anticipated “Casino Jack,” starring Kevin Spacey will have its world premiere, along with the bang bang club starring Canadian Malin Ackerman.
Redford’s film The Conspirator starring James Mcavoy is just one the 15 gala films that will have its world premiere in Toronto.
Other films include Beginners starring Toronto native Christopher Plummer, and Conviction starring Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank.
Handling said we’ll have to wait a little longer to find out which stars and directors will show up.
“At this point in time we can’t confirm every single one of them and obviously we don’t want to if they’re in production or just can’t make it,” Handling said.
More films will be announced August 10 at the Canadian Press conference.
The festival runs Sept 9 to the 19th.
