RIM to introduce tablet-style computer?

The next big thing from RIM could be in stores in just a few months.

According to Bloomberg, Research in Motion – maker of the BlackBerry smartphone – will launch its own tablet-style computer in November.

Patricia Lovett Reid, with TD Waterhouse, told 680News “they want to compete – of course – with Apple’s iPad. It’ll be similar in dimensions to the iPad. The device will include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth access.”

Reports have indicated RIM would call it the “Blackpad” and it would cost roughly the same as Apple’s iPad.

RIM is slated to hold a news conference next week, where it is expected the rumours will be be confirmed.
