Woman Falls From Balcony

A woman is in critical condition after she fell off a balcony in the Don Mills and the 401 area Wednesday afternoon.

The woman tumbled from the 11th floor of 150 Graydon Hall Drive and a satellite dish reportedly broke her fall.

Police got a 9-1-1 call from a woman saying she was being held hostage in a unit on the floor. She denied making the call, but as police were set to leave, they saw a woman falling off the balcony.  Initial reports indicated she had been thrown from the balcony.

The suspect, a 39-year-old male, sustained injuries to his hands and ribs during his arrest. The SIU is investigating.  The suspect was later released.

Witnesses in the building said the apartment is used as a massage parlour.
