BIOGRAPHY
Rob Ford, a city councillor for Ward 2 – Etobicoke Ward, was first elected to city council in 2000, defeating incumbent Elizabeth Brown.
Ford was born in 1966 and is the son of former Member of Provincial Parliament, the late Doug Ford.
Ford supports, volunteers and/or is a member of the Salvation Army’s Red Shield Appeal, Terry Fox Foundation, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Etobicoke Chamber of Commerce, Toronto Board of Trade and the Toronto West Rotary Club.
Viewed as an ultra Conservative, Ford wants tighter fiscal restraints at city hall and has promised to slash the size of city council in half.
In 2002, Ford founded the Eagles football program at Don Bosco Catholic Secondary School in North Etobicoke. He is the head coach of the junior and senior teams.
Ford lives in Etobicoke with his wife, son and daughter.
