Integrity commissioner looks into Rob Ford charity actions

The city’s integrity commissioner, Janet Leiper, is looking into the actions of mayoral candidate Rob Ford.

Leiper says that Ford improperly used his influence as a councillor to collect donations for his football charity, the Rob Ford Football Foundation.

Ford used the City of Toronto logo and resources to solicit funding from lobbyists, clients of lobbyists and a corporation which does business with the city.

The investigation began in May, when a resident complained about the city logo being used on letterhead for the charity.

According to the commissioner, this is the third time Ford has been warned about his actions, previous times occurred in December 2009 and in February.

Council will now decide if Ford has to reimburse those donors.
