Stolen exotic bird recovered

TORONTO, Ont. – An exotic bird stolen Wednesday night from near its home in the city’s east end has been recovered.

Police say as a result of the extensive media coverage regarding the bird, the persons who had taken the 16-year-old Macaw, named Tiffany, contacted the police and the bird was surrendered to the police.

Police say the bird escaped from its owner and flew to a nearby tree in the St. Clair Avenue East and Victoria Park Avenue area, Friday, and was captured by two people driving a pick-up truck, who then drove away.

No charges have been laid at his time and police continue their investigation.
