Betty White Wins Emmy For SNL Hosting Gig

It’s been a golden year for Betty White.

On Saturday, the octogenarian star won an Emmy for her Saturday Night Live hosting gig.

It’s not the first time she’s taken home the statue – in fact, it’s not even the first time she’s won that specific award. White, 88, collected the hardware for Outstanding Guest Actress – Comedy Series for her work on The John Larroquette Show in 1996.

She has five other Emmys, including an award for her work on Golden Girls.

White has seen something of a pop culture resurgence in the past year. A Facebook campaign was partially responsible for her appearance on SNL, she dirty-danced with Sandra Bullock in The Proposal, and she faced a tackle out by a weekend warrior football player in a popular Snickers ad.

She’s now appearing on Hot in Cleveland, TV Land’s first original scripted series.

The Emmys celebrate their awards in two parts. The creative arts ceremony aired on Saturday, while the main Emmys will air on August 29.
