About a quarter of Canadians do not use up their paid vacation days.
And new research suggests that could take a toll on their health.
According to the non-profit organization which studies work-related issues, “vacations are not a luxury – they’re a necessity.”
John De Graff, the executive director of “Take Back your Time,” told 680News if someone does not take enough time away from the job it can end up negatively affecting the state of both their physical and mental health.
“Women – for example – who don’t regularly take vacations are about half again more likely to suffer from heart disease than women who regularly […] take their vacations.”
Studies have also demonstrated that workers who take time off are more productive.
