Hazel McCallion Running For Mayor One More Time

There’s a reason they call her the hurricane: Hazel McCallion just won’t quit.

The 89-year-old is throwing her hat in the ring to stay Mississauga’s mayor, a position she’s already held for 11 terms.

McCallion told 680News about her decision on Wednesday.

She’s been mayor since 1978 and said that if elected on October 12, her 12th term will be her last.

McCallion has been under fire recently over her alleged involvement in a failed land deal orchestrated by her son Peter’s company, World Class Developments.

An inquiry is ongoing.
