TIFF Bell Lightbox to be launched Sunday

The new TIFF Bell Lightbox won’t be open to the public until Sunday’s big block party, but 680News got a sneak peek at the new home for the Toronto International Film Festival.
Construction workers are still putting the finishing touches on the building at King and John but Lightbox artistic director Noah Cowan said its great to finally see the building come together.
“I’ve been working full-time on this project for 2.5 years which seems like a long time and I’m overjoyed with what how building looks. It’s succeeded our wildest dreams”
One of the highlights is the essential cinema gallery and the Atom Egoyan exhibit.
“People who like to go to exhibitions at the ROM or the AGO or the Science Centre, I think will feel a great affinity to our large gallery,” Cowan said.
And in November, the successful Tim Burton exhibition moves in.
“Tim Burton is an amazing artist,” Cowan said. “People are just fascinated by what goes on in that creative mind of his.”
The free Lightbox block party takes place this Sunday.
