One of the G20 summit’s alleged ringleaders who is suspected of organizing mass vandalism is due back in court Tuesday after being accused of breaching his bail conditions.
Alex Hundert, 30, was arrested on Friday night after he took part in a panel discussion on G20 issues put on by Ryerson University.
As part of his bail, Hundert was ordered not to participate in any public demonstrations. His lawyer has argued this arrest is a misunderstanding of the conditions.
“Being thrown back in jail illegitimately and maliciously in no way dampens my resolve, in fact it only strengthens it and I am resolute to continue fighting” said Hundert from jail. “I hope that while I am in jail as many people as possible will continue building movements and building relationships across struggles, and will continue to push back against the system and its norms of domination.”
Hundert, 30, faces three charges of conspiracy pertaining to the G20 protests. Hundert maintains the charges are politically motivated.
In all, five G20 defendants are currently in jail.
