Three schools in the Caledon area were in lockdown on Friday while police investigated a gun incident nearby.
Just after 1pm, officers surrounded a home on Coachwood Manor Court near Highway 50 and King Street East in Bolton, after they received reports of someone wielding a firearm.
Nearby schools were placed in “hold and secure” mode as a precaution.
Students at Ellwood Memorial Public School and Holy Family Elementary School were let out first. St. John the Baptist Elementary School was still in lockdown until about 7:30pm.
Police shut down Queensgate Boulevard between Pembrook and Landsbridge streets for the investigation.
