Lockdown at Bolton elementary school lifted

BOLTON, Ont. – An elementary school in Bolton was under lockdown for over six hours on Friday as a precautionary measure, while police investigated a nearby home.

According to the OPP, the situation involved “the possible brandishing of a firearm”.

Police told 680News the children at St. John the Baptist Elementary School were not in any danger.

Students at the nearby Ellwood Drive Public School and Holy Family Catholic School were also affected, but let out much earlier in the day.

Queensgate Boulevard between Pembrook Street and Landsbridge Street was shut down for the investigation.
