Breathalyzer sales skyrocket with new DUI rules

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Ever since B.C.’s tough new DUI rules went into effect, sales of personal hand-held breathalyzers have gone way up.

Tim Salter is the owner of BreathalyzerCanada.com. He tells News1130 his sales to B.C. customers have tripled.

He says people are looking for a reliable way to be sure they’re not over the new .05 limit – which could just be a couple of drinks at dinner.

Salter says he doesn’t sell novelty items, and his breathalyzer models range in price from $80 to $1,000.
