Suspect Still At Large Following Central Tech Shooting

Toronto Police are searching for one suspect following a shooting at Central Tech.
Gunshots were fired at the downtown school around 1pm on Thursday. No one was injured, but investigators found one shell casing in a stairwell. Police believe that three boys were in the stairwell when one of them got into a fight with a fourth boy. A shot was allegedly fired and all four boys ran.
Two of those boys allegedly stayed on scene and the others ran away. Two boys were taken into custody at the school and a third was arrested around 6:30pm. However, that third boy turned out to be the victim of the shooting – not a suspect. The other two are facing charges that aren’t related to the shooting.
The school, located at 725 Bathurst St., was in lockdown for about three hours. More than 2,000 students attend Central Technical.
“To get a call as a parent from your daughter in a classroom saying she’s in her math class and it’s in a lockdown is the most terrifying thing I have ever experienced in my life,” Linda Myer said.
The Emergency Task Force arrived on scene around and swept every classroom.

- medium-skinny build
