Cariboo North MLA fired by NDP

VANCOUVER (News1130) – The provincial NDP has one fewer member in its caucus. Leader Carole James has released a statement saying MLA Bob Simpson has been let go because of comments made Wednesday.

He ruffled party feathers, saying both NDP membership and donations have dropped because of James’ wilting leadership.

In the statement, James says she spoke with Simpson to let him know he was no longer a member of the NDP caucus. “Mr. Simpson has made it clear that he would rather criticize our work than contribute to it. He has made it clear that he does not want to be part of our team.”

Bob Simpson was first elected in 2005 and served as the party’s critic for Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation.
