A pedestrian was critically injured in the Yonge and Sheppard area Thursday night.
Toronto Police say the 42-year-old woman was crossing Doris Avenue, near Spring Garden Avenue, around 9pm when she was hit by an SUV. Officers report she was within a marked pedestrian crosswalk.
The driver of the SUV, a 40-year-old man, was travelling southbound on Doris Avenue when the collision occurred. The victim was allegedly dragged a short distance before falling to the curb.
She had no vital signs when paramedics arrived, but they managed to revive her for the emergency run to hospital. She remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police had closed the area to traffic for the investigation and are looking at speed as a factor.
