TORONTO, Ont. – This is the final weekend before the municipal election and the two leading mayoral candidates in Toronto are still battling for first place.
The latest polling picture still has up to 18 per cent of voters undecided over how they will cast their vote on Monday.
Most political observers agree that many will make up their mind on the way to or once they are in a polling booth.
George Smitherman received a lukewarm endorsement from The Globe and Mail‘s editorial board.
The paper said Toronto voters have the choice between two flawed candidates, neither of whom have been able to convince they will be able to bring about the kind of change that the city requires.
Meanwhile, the mayoral candidates faced off in a debate for the final time Thursday night. They’ve gone face-to-face more than 100 times during this campaign.
