Concrete Chunks Fall From Gardiner

The Gardiner is showing its age once again.
Chunks of concrete – some the size of a loaf of bread – crashed down near Yonge Street and Lake Shore Boulevard around 8pm Friday.
“We could feel it,” said witness Hani Ismail. “When the car was coming on the Gardiner, [with] the vibration you could see the stones coming down on the driveway here.”
There were no reports of any injuries and so far no one has come forward with a damaged vehicle.
A laneway just south of the intersection was shut down because of the incident.
City engineers were called in to assess the situation.
