Harper Looks Back On 2010 In Christmas Message

The prime minister is looking back on a year in which Canada “shone” on the world stage.

And he’s looking forward to a prosperous 2011, where jobs are plentiful.

In his holiday message, Stephen Harper boasts of Canada’s achievements in 2010, including hosting the Olympics, the Queen and the G8 and G20 leaders.

He also points to Haiti and Afghanistan as pillars of Canada’s foreign aid achievements.

Harper says he’s also looking forward to an economic recovery in the new year, with more jobs being created.

And the P-M notes that 2011 will mark the end of Canada’s combat mission in Afghanistan.

Harper also takes the opportunity in the message to push his political agenda, saying his government will make careful investments in things that create jobs and prosperity, and be prudent fiscal managers.
