TORONTO, On. – Toronto police have been investigating a New Year’s Eve bash on the city’s west-side that had to be cancelled due to safety concerns.
The event had been oversold. Only 300 of the 1500 ticket holders were able to get into the venue at a restored glass factory at 99 Sudbury Street before the crowd got out of control and the event was cancelled, police told The Toronto Star.
Organizers claimed the problem was people without tickets trying to force their way into the party.
They are promising full refunds and a free show in the future.
Police are looking into possible charges against the promoter or owners of the venue.
