Jason (The Athlete) MacDonald will make his return to the Octagon at UFC 129 in Toronto, taking on Ryan Jensen on April 30, sportsnet.ca has learned.
Sources told sportsnet.ca that both parties have agreed and contracts should be signed by Saturday morning.
MacDonald, from Red Deer, Alta., has not fought since suffering a major leg injury in a loss to John Salter last May at UFC 113 in Montreal.
Jensen is coming off a submission loss to Court McGee at UFC 121 in October.
UFC 129, the promotion’s first show in Ontario, will be held at the Rogers Centre and is expected to break the organization’s attendance record.
