A police chase in Hamilton ended in dramatic fashion when a man crashed through the roof of a home.
It happened in the city’s north end, on Cannon Street, where police spotted an individual who had outstanding warrants.
When they approached him, he took off running and a spirited foot chase ensued. The man jumped several fences before running inside a home on Smith Avenue.
He then somehow made it onto the roof of the house. But when he tried jumping onto the roof of a neighbouring residence, he crashed through, startling a homeowner.
The man luckily suffered only minor injuries.
Patrick Tomchuk, 22, has been charged with escaping lawful custody, forcible entry and breach of probation.
