Apple CEO, Steve Jobs, has agreed to participate in a biography about his life.
According to publisher Simon and Schuster, the book entitled, iSteve: The Book of Jobs has been in the works since 2009 by author Walter Isaacson. It is slated for publication next year.
The long-rumoured biography is the first authorized project by Jobs and includes interviews with Jobs himself, his family, colleagues and competitors.
Isaacson’s work also includes biographies of Benjamin Franklin and Albert Einstein.
“This is the perfect match of subject and author, and it is certain to be a landmark book about one of the world’s greatest innovators,” Simon & Shuster’s Jonathan Karp, said in a statement.
The authorized release follows a move by Apple in 2005 in which it banned all John Wiley & Sons releases from Apple stores because the publisher had signed up to fund an unauthorized biography.
Jobs, 56, has had difficulties with his health recently: he took his third leave in seven years to undergo a liver transplant and has also survived a curable form of pancreatic cancer.
