FELICITY – Suspended FIFA executive Jack Warner has reneged on a pledge to reveal details of an email exchange with President Sepp Blatter.
At a Sunday rally that drew a few thousand supporters, Warner said he decided not to disclose the email exchanged with Blatter because “the best legal advice received at home and abroad has suggested that I do not do so at this time.”
Caribbean football leaders are alleged to have been paid US$40,000 each to back Mohamed bin Hammam’s presidential bid during a visit to Warner’s native Trinidad.
Warner and Bin Hammam were suspended pending a full investigation, and Blatter was re-elected unopposed.
Warner had previously said “the contents of the email are crystal clear as to what transpired.”
