Toronto actress wins Daytime Emmy award

Toronto’s own Brittany Allen has won a Daytime Entertainment Emmy Award.

The 25-year-old actress got the prize for her role as Marissa Chandler on the soap opera All My Children.

It was Allen’s first nomination and win, for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series.

The 38th annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards ceremony took place Sunday in Las Vegas.
