2-alarm fires at 2 highrise buildings Monday morn.

Firefighters were called out to battle a couple of two-alarm blazes in two highrise apartments early Monday.

A fire also gutted a Richmond Hill home late Sunday.

Streets were temporarily closed down in the Lansdowne and Dupont area after flames erupted inside a 16th-floor unit at 1011 Lansdowne Ave. around 3:45 a.m.

A portion of the building was evacuated.

Fire crews were also called to an apartment building on Markland Drive, in the Bloor and Renforth area, just before 1 a.m. for another two-alarm blaze.

Officials continue to investigate both fires.

And a home on Addison Street, near Yonge and Major MacKenzie, was fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived around 11 p.m. Sunday.

No one was home when the fire broke out.
