The Toronto Police Services board will wait to decide whether to offer buyout packages to 400 officers in an effort to cut costs.
The board has opted to give the budget sub-committee more time to look at the recommendations.
“Once we reach some final decisions as a budget subcomittee, that information will be directed to the board and at such time that information will obviously be made public, councillor Michael Thompson said.
The board is under pressure from Mayor Rob Ford to cut its nearly billion-dollar budget by about 10 per cent.
