Free Tim Hortons coffee scam appears on Facebook

Coffee lovers beware! A scam for free coffee appeared over the weekend on Facebook.

The scam promised users a free Tim Hortons card if they like and share a page with their friends. The catch is users were asked to provide their email address and other personal information.

The scam quickly branched out to include Starbucks before the pages were eventually removed from Facebook.

Experts say free voucher scams are a common formula for online fraudsters.
