TORONTO, Ont. – Toronto Mayor Rob Ford admitted he used the F-word out of frustration when he called 911 after being confronted by the CBC outside his home.
But, he denied making any foul or derogatory comments to female 911 staff.
After his football coaching duties, Thursday, at Don Bosco High School, Ford apologized for expressing his frustration “inappropriately.”
“Maybe I shouldn’t have used the F-word. I apologize. But to say I called the dispatcher a b**ch, I never said that,” Ford said.
Ford said he was frustrated over the wait for police to arrive after he called about CBC comedian Mary Walsh turning up at his home.
“My little girl is crying at the window. I mean, come on, that crosses the line,” he said.
Ford said he was upset and concerned his daughter was being traumatized as he was being as he terms it, “attacked” in his driveway.
In a statement released by the mayor’s office, Ford said he hopes he can be excused for using the F-word and apologized for expressing his frustration inappropriately.
According to the CBC, Ford was accused by 911 dispatchers of being verbally abusive.
According to CBC, their sources said Ford yelled at a dispatcher, saying “You… b**ches! Don’t you f***ing know? I’m Rob f***ing Ford, the mayor of this city!”
The CBC reported the recording has spread through the police force.
