NEW YORK — New York Islanders left-winger Matt Moulson was named NHL first star of the week Monday after recording seven points in three games.
Moulson had six goals and one assist to help the Islanders post a 3-0-1 record last week. He became the first NHL player to record a four-goal game this season when he led New York to a 5-4 win over Dallas on Saturday.
Colorado Avalanche centre Ryan O’Reilly was named second star and Los Angeles Kings goalie Jonathan Quick took the third star.
O’Reilly also had seven points (4-3) over four games last week.
Quick won both of his starts and had one shutout. He recorded a 0.50 goals-against average and a .987 save percentage.
