$1.1M in counterfeit bills seized: RCMP

The RCMP say they’ve made one of the biggest-ever seizures of counterfeit money in British Columbia after finding $1.1 million in fake bills in an apartment in Richmond.
Four men have been arrested and will be facing charges related to what the Mounties call a “counterfeit currency factory.”
Police say an investigation led them to the apartment when they found sheets of fake, uncut $100 Canadian bills on Dec. 11.
They also found blank credit cards, computers and equipment used in the production of counterfeit banknotes and credit cards.
Insp. Ian Lawson says the seizure is a particular success because it stopped the phoney money from getting into circulation, preventing the proceeds being used to fund other criminal activity.
