With just days to go until Christmas, weather forecasters say it will likely be another green not white one.
CityNews meteorologist Natasha Ramsahai says the forecast models are acting unpredictably. And that while previously it looked like a storm would hit on Christmas Eve with a chance of snow, it now looks like that day will be sunny.
She said the odds of a white Christmas now stand at less than 20 per cent.
There must be at least two centimetres of snow on the ground to qualify as a white Christmas, according to Environment Canada.
It seems that many Torontonians are having a hard time getting used to the idea.
“It’s probably not gonna snow I don’t think,” said Sean Moorfield. ”You’re used to a white Christmas, going out, seeing all the snow. Take what you can get.”
Liam Moorfield said “I go to school in the states, so I look forward to coming home and having a white Christmas. But I guess not this year,”
If residents can’t have a white Christmas, maybe the mild weather will offer some comfort.
Wednesday’s high is 5 C with light rain expected. On Thursday it is expected to be even warmer, with a high of 6 C. The end of the work week on Friday will see a cooler high of -2 C. Christmas Eve has an expected high of 1 C, and Christmas Day will see a daytime high of 3 C.
