Banged up Leafs recall Kadri from Marlies

The Toronto Maple Leafs have recalled forward Nazem Kadri from the Toronto Marlies.
The Leafs made the move after the club placed forward Philippe Dupuis on the injured reserve list Tuesday due to an upper body injury.
Kadri skated on a line with Tim Connolly and Clarke MacArthur at the Leafs’ Wednesday morning practice and will be in the lineup when the Buds host the Buffalo Sabres at the Air Canada Centre Thursday.
The seventh-overall pick in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft leads the Marlies in scoring with 22 points in 22 games. The 21-year-old has played three games with the Leafs this season.
The Leafs are a banged up crew right now. Although starting goalie James Reimer recently returned from a concussion, several starters remain out of the lineup.
Colby Armstrong was placed on the IR for the second time this season. The frequently injured winger suffered a concussion in the Leafs’ 5-3 loss to Vancouver Saturday.
Forwards Mike Brown (back) and Matthew Lombardi (arm) remain on the IR, as does defenceman Mike Komisarek (arm). Also, centre Dave Steckel is still out of the lineup, as he recovers from an illness.
Despite a strong start to the season, the team has lost five of its last six games and currently sits in seventh place in the Eastern Conference.
