Pepper recall expanded for possible salmonella contamination

A recall on peppers due to possible salmonella contamination was expanded this week.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) had originally warned the public about the problem with jalapeno peppers imported from the United States. Now the agency says Serrano peppers could also be contaminated.
“Consumers who have purchased bulk, unlabelled Serrano peppers are advised to check with their place of purchase to determine if they have the affected product,” the CFIA said in a statement.
The affected peppers were sold unlabelled, in bulk at Safeway and independent grocery stores in Ontario and west between Dec. 5 and 20th.
No have been no reports of illness associated with this recall.
