While we shiver here, across the pond they’re simply trying to keep their balance.
Britain is currently being tormented by 60 kilometre per hour winds and heavy rain in some areas, resulting in both air and road travel havoc, closed seaports and power outages.
Several companies suspended ferry traffic across the English Channel until the high winds subside. Other ferry links have also been temporarily closed.
In Scotland and Northern Ireland, winds were particularly high, with Edinburgh reporting gusts of 164 kilometres per hour. As a result, air travel is slower than normal, and falling trees are leading to widespread power outages and road closures.
