Return to winter weather expected Friday

Toronto could receive up to five centimetres of snow on Friday as winter weather returns to the GTA.
The unusually mild conditions we’ve been experiencing will take a turn Friday with the temperature dipping down to 0 C and then to -8 C on Saturday, which will feel more like -16 C.
Environment Canada had issued a freezing rain warning for parts of the GTA early Thursday, but it ended around 6 a.m.
Freezing rain caused some serious problems in eastern Ontario, where the weather warning remains in effect.
The slippery conditions prompted officials to cancel all buses to schools in the city of Kawartha Lakes for the Trillium Lakelands District School Board. Buses to St. John’s (Kirkfield), St. Mary’s, St. Dominic, St. Luke’s and Pope John Paul Elementary schools and St. Thomas Aquinas Secondary School in City of Kawartha Lakes were also cancelled.
School buses were also cancelled in Kingston.
