6,500 Mini Coopers recalled in Canada

More than 250,000 Mini Cooper Turbos are being recalled world-wide, including almost 6,500 in Canada.

The problem is a defective water pump, which has led to engine fires.

There are no reports of injuries from the problem.

The affected models were built between 2007 and 2011 and include the Mini Cooper ‘S’, the Clubman and the Countryman.

Owners will get notices in the mail advising them when and where to bring their cars in for repair.
