Man killed inside recording studio in city’s east end

TORONTO, Ont. – Toronto police say witnesses and those being interviewed are being “far from truthful” in the city’s fourth homicide of the year.
Anthony Spencer, 23, died after being dropped off at Scarborough General hospital by people in two vehicles.
Hospital staff were alerted of a man with with a gunshot injury at about 5 a.m. Saturday morning, when four males and one female, captured on hospital video, carried Spencer into the hospital.
The group then left the scene without speaking to police.
One of the vehicles, a Nissan, has been located and seized for examination and the occupants have been located an interviewed.
The other vehicle, an older model brown/gold sedan, has also been located along with its driver.
Police allege those being interviewed are not telling the full story.
“The individuals who we are interviewing, and are still interviewing, are being far less than truthful with regards to the narrative of what happened to Mr. Spencer,” said Detective Sergeant Gary Giroux.
“We have dangerous people out there, and these individuals who are reportedly friends of the deceased know who these individuals are, and I’m impeaching them to come forward and tell us who they are,” Giroux said.
Police say they have now located the crime scene, which they say is a recording studio at 799 Brimley Road.
Officers from 43 Division have been at the scene for the past 24 hours, and a warrant was being prepared pending examination.
Police say Spencer was as the studio to record, along with the other individuals. Investigators say they do not yet have a motive for the killing.
Giroux did add that others in the community know what happened inside, and if they came forward this could likely be resolved quickly.
