Middleweight Sonnen says he’s the champ

CHICAGO — Middleweight contender Chael Sonnen brought his own championship belt to a UFC news conference Thursday.

And he provided some Muhammad Ali-type stylings, declaring “You’re looking at the reflection of perfection.”

UFC president Dana White didn’t quite buy the prop and also shot down Sonnen’s claim that middleweight champion Anderson Silva will never fight him again.

White insisted the winner of Saturday’s bout between Sonnen and England’s Michael (The Count) Bisping will face Silva this summer in Brazil.

Sonnen dominated Silva for four rounds the first time they met before falling victim to a submission hold in the final round at UFC 117 in August 2010.

Former light-heavyweight champion Rashad Evans meets Phil (Mr. Wonderful) Davis in the main event Saturday at the United Center.
