Water main break causes massive sinkhole near O’Connor & Coxwell

Crews are working to repair a big sinkhole near O’Connor Drive and Coxwell Avenue in East York.

A water main break that happened on Barbara Crescent Thursday morning created an even bigger problem Friday with the large hole opening up in the road. Crews had to remove a dump truck that got stuck in the crater.

Water to homes in the area was shut off Thursday afternoon as crews repaired the problem. Service was restored around 7 a.m. Friday.
