TORONTO, Ont. – A new survey by Zagat — a restaurant rating system — shows Torontonians eat out an average of three times a week.
That’s about the same as people in Chicago, New York and Los Angeles.
Twenty-eight per cent of Torontonians said they’re eating out more often than normal, and one-third said they’re spending more.
Average tips in Toronto are 17 per cent, which is slightly less than what diners tip in major U.S. cities.
Zagat has also chosen the best restaurants in Toronto, with Scaramouche on Avenue Road topping the list. Canoe and Auberge du Pommier also got high marks.
For dining on a budget, Spring Rolls and Burrito Boyz topped the Zagat list.
