NOW Magazine creating controversy over latest altered image of mayor

Even Mayor Rob Ford’s political opponents are accusing NOW Magazine of going too far because the free weekly magazine published an alerted image of the mayor holding a gun to his head.

The picture accompanies an editorial by former transit chair Adam Giambrone that accuses the mayor of destroying his own political future.

Even Giambrone has Tweeted to say he wishes the magazine did not publish the picture.

Many people at Yonge and Bloor agree, saying NOW Magazine has gone too far with this one.

“I thought it was in poor taste, whether they like the mayor or not, putting a picture like that really sends a strong message of almost an intent that they shouldn’t be putting out there in the public,” one person at Yonge and Bloor said.

But others say it’s no worse than other ‘tweaked’ images of Ford the weekly magazine has published in the past.

“When he first got elected, they had a picture of him superimposed on a fat body. that  might have been going too far,” another person at Yonge and Bloor told 680News.

NOW Magazine also published another picture in March, of Ford superimposed on an overweight body with nothing on but boxers.
