Family Day weekend: events

TORONTO, Ont. – There are plenty of things to do in the city on Family Day (Monday, Feb. 20).

  • Family Fun Fair, presented by Today’s Parent: The event features rides, carnival games, and more; held at the Rogers Centre Feb. 18-20, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • 2012 Canadian International AutoShow: The event roars into Toronto Feb. 17-26 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
  • Family Day on Toronto’s Waterfront: This year’s event includes a skating party, arts and crafts, music and more.
  • A free celebration of skating and the culture at HarbourKIDS: SK8 festival will include beatboxing, button-making, hockey-mask-design and many more craft activities.
  • A variety of skating events will take place at the Natrel® Rink.
  • PawsWay will host some free, furry family fun including face-painting, arts and crafts, and learning how to draw your pet.
  • The Queen’s Quay Terminal will be hosting a number of indoor activities including a meet and greet with TreehouseTV’s Harry and his Bucket Full of Dinosaurs.

  • City of Toronto events:


Skating – Outdoor rinks will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Swimming – 10 city-run indoor pools are open between 2-5 p.m.
Skiing and snowboarding – The Toronto Ski & Snowboard Centres will be open on Family Day from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Riverdale Farm – Visit animals, play board games, crafts, hot chocolate and treat. Drop-in activities run from 10 a.m. to noon and 1-3 p.m. The farm is open from 9 a.m. to 5.p.m.
High Park Zoo – Open daily from 7 a.m. to dusk.
Discover the Shared Path – Includes 15 kilometres of trails through a series of park areas along the banks of the Humber River.
Discovery Walks – A series of 10 self-guided walks linking ravines, parks and neighbourhoods.
City museums and historic sites
Toronto Zoo – Open on Family Day.
