Man arrested after Brampton house fire

Toronto police have arrested a 19-year-old man accused of starting a house fire while his nine-year-old niece and five-year-old nephew were still inside the home.
The quick-thinking girl quickly doused the flames, saving herself and her brother, after the Feb. 15 incident.
Police arrested Joshua Raphael in Toronto on Sunday.
Raphael was turned over to Peel Regional police and charged with arson and mischief endangering life. He will appear in court on Tuesday.
Peel police say Raphael was babysitting the children at their Brampton home near Kennedy and Vodden roads when he allegedly lit a fire and took off — leaving the kids in the house alone.
Const. Thomas Ruttan told CityNews.ca the smoke alarm “went off fairly quickly”.
“[The little girl] put it out fairly quickly with a bucket of water,” Ruttan said. Minimal damage was done to the home.
