Former Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Keith Aulie will make his Tampa Bay Lightning debut Friday as his new team recalled him from the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League Wednesday.
The 22 year-old was acquired prior to Monday’s NHL trade deadline in exchange for prospect Carter Ashton.
Aulie — a fourth-round pick of the Calgary Flames in 2007 — has split time in the NHL and AHL this season. In 57 career NHL games with the Leafs, Aulie registered two goals, two assists and 48 penalty minutes.
Lightning general manager Steve Yzerman also announced the team reassigned forwards Pierre-Cedric Labrie, Trevor Smith and defenceman Evan Oberg to the Admirals.
The Lightning host the Eastern Conference-leading New York Ranger on Friday.
