Strike ends after 407 ETR workers ratify new deal

Highway 407 ETR customer service representatives are once again receiving calls Tuesday after their union ratified a collective agreement and put an end to a strike.

The 130 workers walked off the job Feb. 22 after talks broke down between management and the Canadian Auto Workers Union Local 414. They picketed in front of the 407 ETR offices at Steeles Avenue West, near Highway 27, in Woodbridge. The job action didn’t have an effect on drivers on the toll highway.

The new three-year deal provides wage increases and improved benefits.
