Report: Manning to visit Broncos Friday

So much for Tebowmania.

Peyton Manning is on his way to Denver and will be meeting with the Broncos on Friday night, according to a report from the Denver Post.

The longtime Colts quarterback is expected to meet with members of the front office and coaching staff such as John Elway and John Fox but will not work out or take a physical with the Broncos.

Manning, who was released by the Colts after 14 seasons on Wednesday, is said to have interest in meeting with the Miami Dolphins and Arizona Cardinals after he wraps up his visit in Denver.

The 35-year-old missed all of last season after undergoing three separate neck surgeries.

According to ESPN.com, as many as 12 teams contacted Manning’s representatives after he officially became an unrestricted free agent on Wednesday afternoon.

If signed, Manning would take over as the starting quarterback and fan-favourite Tim Tebow would move to the bench after leading the Broncos to a shocking wild card victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in January.

The Broncos won the AFC West with an 8-8 record in 2011.
