5 things to do this weekend: Spruce up the city, update your record collection, and scale the CN Tower

For Families: Take a broom to the streets for Community Clean Up day, a city-wide effort to make Toronto litter-free. Mayor Rob Ford, who recently unveiled a graffiti cleanup app, will participate. City-wide. Saturday (Rain date Sunday). Free. toronto.ca

For Visitors: The Toronto Art Expo showcases art from right here in the city and around in the world. Over 200 artists from 12 countries will display their wares at Metro Toronto Convention Centre, 250 Front St. W. Friday-Sunday. $8-$14. Torontoartexpo.com 

For Singles: Browse bins of vinyl with like-minded music-philes during Record Store day, a celebration of the non-digital. Stores across the city, including Sonic Boom and Rotate This, will participate. Multiple locations. Saturday. Free.  Recordstoreday.com 

For Charity: Scale the CN Tower while supporting the planet. The stair climb raises funds for the World Wildlife Foundation, and their work to protect endangered species.  Yonge-Dundas Square. Saturday. 11 a.m.  Registration $25, plus at least $75 in pledges.  Cntower.com

For Kicks: Everything you’ve ever wanted to know about growing your own – fruit trees, that is – is on offer from Community Orchard. Learn how to prune, thin, and mulch your backyard garden. Ben Nobleman Park, Eglinton Ave W. and Everden Rd. Sunday. 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. $25-$45. Communityorchard.ca
