Crews battle fire at Leaside Centre’s Canadian Tire

Firefighters battled a huge blaze at the Canadian Tire at Leaside Centre, Monday.
The fire started around 5 p.m. in the home and garden centre at 825 Eglinton Ave. E. at Laird Drive.
Black smoke filled the area and could be seen many blocks away.
Crews were able to extinguish the blaze around 6:30 p.m.
Police confirmed there were no injuries.
There has been no word as to what caused the fire.
Eglinton is closed both ways at Laird.
The TTC says the 34 and 100 buses were diverting both ways via Bayview Avenue, Millwood Road, Overlea Boulevard and Don Mills Road. Regular service has resumed.
